The Weldon Spring Site, a location used to manufacture explosives during World War II and then later to process uranium ore, is now an area for education and recreation. Located on the site is an Interpretive Center that tells the history of the site, the Disposal Cell that covers 45 acres, a 150-acre native praire, a native Missouri plant garden, meeting rooms and the Hamburg Trail that connects the Weldon Spring Site to the Katy Trail and August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area. Admission is free.
